My one to one personal training is designed to meet your specific needs while also taking your fitness levels into consideration.

Over the years I’ve had so many people (especially beginners) say that they were “Dreading their first personal training session” as they taught it was going to be too hard for them.

That’s understandable, but what I always say to my clients is.. “it will not be too hard, just like it will not be too easy.” If I ask you to do something you cant, then you might give up. But if I ask you to do something that is too easy then you might not get RESULTS!!!.

And like I said before IT’S ALL ABOUT RESULTS


What To Expect:

On day one, I will sit down with you to discuss your goals. Weight Loss, Tone Up, Fat Loss, Building Lean Muscle etc. I will then take full body measurements, body fat analysis and fitness tests. Depending on your goals, I can give you weekly training plans as well as weekly, easy to follow nutrition plans.

I will not give you strict/fad diets to follow as I don’t agree with them and most people don’t stick to them anyway. I will give you an easy to follow healthy nutrition plan with 3-4 options for each meal, as well as 3-4 options to snack on between meals or late at night. Yes late at night!

I know most people will tell you not to eat after 6pm/7pm but it depends on the individuals goals and there daily routine. For example, if you want to lose 2 stone I wouldn’t tell you to have a big meal before bed but I certainty wouldn’t tell you to starve yourself for the day either.

My name is Glenn; I am a Sports Massage Therapist /Neuromuscular Therapist and Personal Trainer.
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a treatment that utilizes specific massage therapy and stretching to eliminate the causes of most neuromuscular pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief brings about balance between the muscular system and the nervous system.

NMT enhances the function of joints, muscles and biomechanics (movement) as it releases endorphins which are the body’s own natural pain killers. By using Sports Massage and a number of techniques including Soft Tissue Release, Muscle Energy Techniques and Positional Release on soft tissue injuries, this therapy can increaserecovery, reduce scar tissue and help return an injured area to its full functionality. It may also be used post-operative in order to return areas of the body that become restricted due to surgery or after a period of time in plaster, to their full range of motion.

Personal Training
I have been working as a personal trainer for over 15 years. During this time I have helped many of my clients reach and surpass their goals.
Personal training has changed over the years. From 1 to 1 training to small groups. I like working with both. With the 1 to1 scenario it’s much easier to spot faults in technique so progress is increased very quickly. In the small groups scenario I find it interesting as clients compete against each other and themselves to work harder. With a maximum of 6 clients I can still keep up high standards in exercise technique and progress.

I train my client’s form their home/ work place, local parks and of course in the gym. At home/work place I would have 1-3 clients at any one time. In the park or gym I can have 1-6 clients. This is because I have more space and equipment.

My sessions normally start with a functionally warm-up.  This increases the heart rate and then I introduce dynamic stretching which increases the range of motion within the joint without the client getting cold from static stretching.

Then we have the main part of the workout where we start with improving strength and conditioning finishing with some kind of high intense interval training (HIT Training).

Lastly we have the cool-down phase where we bring the heart rate down and improve flexibility

MORE ABOUT WILLIAM: William is currently a tutor with the County Wicklow VEC and Arklow Youthreach where he is currently tutoring health related fitness and sports.

William has an excellent sports pedigree. He has represented four different National League Teams, including Bohemians FC, Bray Wanderers FC, Kilkenny City and Kildare County FC, he has represented the Republic of Ireland at U18 and U19 levels as well as winning schoolboy honours at international level.

William is a winner of the Enda McGill U-21 All Ireland Championship and is currently representing Leinster at Amateur level. William is also heavily involved in GAA and Soccer coaching. He was responsible for setting the gym, core and nutrition programmes for the Wicklow Senior GAA team, who went on the win the Tommy Murphy Cup for the first time in their history in 2008.

William is looking after the Arklow Ladies Senior, Junior and Minor Gaelic Teams who have gone on to win numerous County Championships.
